New chocolate bar with no sugar and 10g of protein has shocking number of calories: ‘Candy that makes sense’
Hormbles Chormbles may sound like gibberish, but this new kind of candy bar actually “makes sense.”
The brand’s slogan, “Make Candy Make Sense,” suggests a guilt-free alternative to a world full of sugar. Each bar of chocolate contains 10g of protein, 0g sugar, and just 100 calories.
The candy is crafted with high-quality whey and milk protein, making it nutrient-rich with essential amino acids, plus naturally occurring sweeteners, such as steviol glycosides (Stevia), monk fruit extract and allulose — a far cry from the sugar-laden, nutritionally-void candy we grew up with.

“Candy never really made sense to me,” said Jared Smith, the brand’s CEO and co-founder of RXBAR, in a statement.
“At RXBAR, we prioritized transparency and whole food ingredients, yet I still found myself reaching for whatever candy or snack was around. I had a cognitive dissonance with nutrition. I understood its importance, but I still craved candy.”
The brand launched this week with four flavors: Salted Fudge, Classic Milk, Cookies & Creme and Peanut Butter.
But the real star of the show isn’t the sugar-free nutritional benefits — it’s the name “Hormbles Chormbles.”
Social media users can’t get enough of the bizarre-sounding name, which some have pointed out might end up being a branding success.
“Hormbles Chormbles sounds like the Teletubbies trying to curse you out,” Eater wrote in an article.
One person shared that the outlandish name “has completely taken out my group chat. we’ll never be the same.”
“What in the Dr Seuss is going on here?” someone asked on Instagram.
“I keep reading it as ‘Horrible Chombles,'” one quipped.
“It’s a magical spell that conjures chocolate duh,” another joked.
“Sounds like something from Rick and Morty,” a user noted.
If you’re pondering the name Hormbles Chormbles, the About section on the website simply says, “Hormbles Chormbles chormbled Chormbles so for once in a Hormble all Hormbles could chormble. If Hormbles chormble Chormbles, Hormbles should share Chormbles for all Hormbles to chormble” — which should definitely answer your questions.
In a statement to The Post, the brand shared that “Hormbles Chormbles is a name that sparks imagination. Everyone hears it and pictures something different. It’s the kind of name that takes you back to the playful spirit of eating candy as a child.”
“We designed the brand to bring you back to that feeling and to let your imagination run wild again,” they added. “It never fails to make us smile or laugh, and we hope it brings that same joy to everyone who encounters the brand.”
