Jessica Chastain re-lists her NYC home — one that previously belonged to Leonard Bernstein — with a price cut

The Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain is endeavoring once more to sell off her exquisite Manhattan co-op across from Carnegie Hall.

The four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home in the highly coveted Osborne — one of the first luxury apartment buildings in America — once belonged to the legendary composer Leonard Bernstein. Chastain, 48, bought the storied unit for $5.1 million in 2015. The “Zero Dark Thirty” actress attempted to sell last May for $7.45 million before pulling the listing in February.

Now it’s back on the market for a slightly softer $6.49 million, according to a Monday evening StreetEasy listing update.

The 3,200-square-foot residence was previously featured in Architectural Digest and renovated by AD100 designers Carrier and Company. Modern amenities and a fresh color palette contrast with restored turn-of-the-century details, including oak parquet floors, crown moldings and carved doorways.

The home remains in the same state as it was when listing photos were last obtained in 2024, when a different luxury brokerage represented it. Two formal living rooms boast mahogany paneling, 14-foot ceilings and a bay window with Tiffany Studio-created leaded glass transoms.

The primary bedroom includes a copper soaking tub and a wall of mirrored closets. It also enjoys one of the apartment’s five woodburning fireplaces.

The home’s L-shaped floor plan also includes secondary bedrooms and a library.

Chastain isn’t the first famous artist to pass through the home’s mahogany halls. Chastain bought the home in 2015 from another composer, Adam Guettel — the grandson of “The Sound of Music” composer Richard Rodgers.

Chastain moved into the Osborne on the heels of her box-office successes in “Zero Dark Thirty” in 2012 and “Interstellar” in 2014. She would go on to win an Academy Award for best actress for her work in the 2022 film “The Eyes of Tammy Faye.”

Carl Gambino of Compass is now repping the listing. The brokerage declined The Post’s request for comment.

It is unclear why the “Molly’s Game” actress is on her way out, but perhaps she had one too many run-in with the purported ghosts that haunt the vaunted halls of the 140-year-old building.

The Osborne, similar to the Dakota, is an iconic and exclusive Gilded Age cooperative. The Midtown building is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful apartment buildings on 57th Street. Owning a home there includes the perks of a 24/7 doorman, a landscaped roof terrace and a live-in resident manager.
