Trump slams MSNBC, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts: ‘Disgrace to the integrity of broadcasting’

President Trump fired a broadside at MSNBC and the CEO of its parent company, Comcast, comparing the left-leaning network to “the broken broadcasting disaster known as CNN.”

“Wow! Fake News MSNBC has REALLY BAD RATINGS,” the president wrote late Tuesday on Truth Social.

“Comcast, which also has the ailing network known as NBC, is trying to stay away from lawsuits by disassociating NBC from MSNBC, but it won’t work. Comcast, the owner of both, and it’s Chairman, Brian Roberts, are a disgrace to the integrity of Broadcasting!!!”

The network’s primetime ratings have dropped 57% since the 2024 election, averaging 660,000 viewers compared to December 2023’s 1.3 million, according to the latest ratings.

MSNBC did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Comcast plans to spin off MSNBC and most of its cable assets into a separate company, to be run by Mark Lazarus, later this year. NBC News will remain under the Comcast umbrella.

Trump has been taking shots at Roberts for years, blaming the executive for allowing MSNBC to attack him on-air.

In a social media post in February, Trump branded Roberts the “Lowlife Chairman of ‘Concast,’” even as he cheered the firing of rabid anti-Trump MSNBC host Joy Reid.

He argued that MSNBC should “be forced to pay vast sums of money for the damage they’ve done to our Country.”

Trump had also previously called Roberts a “slimeball” for signing off on MSNBC’s left-wing bias.

“MSNBC (MSDNC) uses FREE government approved airwaves, and yet it is nothing but a 24 hour hit job on Donald J. Trump and the Republican Party for purposes of ELECTION INTERFERENCE,” Trump wrote in a social media post in November 2023.

The president also warned that the spin-off plans will not save the new company from legal repercussions.

It’s not the first network to face threats of legal action from the Trump administration.

Earlier this week, Trump pushed for the FCC to impose the “maximum fines and punishment” on CBS News for its “out of control” coverage.

His comment followed a “60 Minutes” episode that featured an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and protests from Greenlanders opposing Trump’s takeover plot.

Trump is suing CBS for $20 billion, accusing it of deceptively editing a “60 Minutes” interview with Vice President Kamala Harris before the election.

CBS owner Paramount and Trump have reportedly agreed on a mediator in the case.

The president has also said he “would love to” pull federal funding for NPR and PBS, which are under investigation by the FCC over their alleged airing of prohibited commercials.
