Nothing John Mara has said indicates Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll face win-now edict

It was and remains worth monitoring.

Would the moves this offseason made by Giants general manager Joe Schoen reveal any sense of desperation? Would there be a free-agent signing that felt like it was made exclusively for win-now results, with no regard for the future? Would there be exorbitant contracts that flirted with potential salary-cap nightmares down the road?

And in the upcoming draft, will there be players taken and 2026 picks traded away that give off the vibe that the decision-makers are feeling the heat now, with little concern for what happens later?

So far, there are no signs Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll are operating as if they are sitting squarely on the hot seat. There is a reason for that. They know co-owner John Mara did not put them there and turn up the flame.
