Here’s what happened when Michelle Williams and Michelle Williams ‘finally’ met for the first time

This introduction was pure destiny.

Actress Michelle Williams and Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams finally met after years of mix-ups due to sharing the same name in Hollywood.

“We had an amazing show tonight,” the songstress, 45, said in an Instagram video posted on Thursday after she performed in Broadway’s “Death Becomes Her.”

“The crowd was lit. We love lit crowds. So, I’ve got more things to sign. I always love to bring y’all in on my journey.”

She then started signing headshots — but not of herself. The photos were of the “Dawson’s Creek” alum, 44.

The camera hilariously panned to the actress, who quipped, “Who should I make them out to?”

The singer exclaimed, “You could make it out to me.”

The Grammy winner captioned her cheeky post, “#FINALLY.”

Fans flocked to the comments section to share their excitement at the duo’s interaction.

“OMG YES the MICHELLES,” one follower wrote as a second chimed in, “The crossover we were waiting for! Now play Muni’s Made For Me.”

“Yall finally met lmfaoooo I am on the floor,” another added.

Rounding out the sweet notes, a fourth social media user said, “Was not expecting this at all ALL and I loved every moment!!”

The “Dying for Sex” star spoke about meeting the artist on “Watch What Happens Live” on April 3.

Host Andy Cohen read the Oscar nominee a fan question, asking, “Do you have a relationship or friendship with the other Michelle Williams, and have you seen her in ‘Death Becomes Her’ yet?”

She responded, “I have my tickets for next week.”

In March, the Broadway star took to social media to reveal that she had received a letter from a fan in Germany, but the writer meant to send the message to the other Williams.

“I received this letter, and I can’t wait to dig in and tell you guys what it says,” she explained in her Instagram video. “All right, it says, ‘Dear Michelle Williams, I hope this letter finds you in great spirits. My name is Philip, and I have been an avid fan of your incredible performances in both film and theater.’”

As the note went on, it became obvious who the writer intended the letter to be for.

“Your work in movies like ‘Blue Valentine,’ ‘Manchester by the Sea’ or ‘The Greatest Showman’ has deeply moved me and many others, showcasing your exceptional talent,” the former girl group member read. “I am writing to kindly ask if you would consider signing the enclosed photos I have of you. Having your autograph would mean so much for me and my daughter, as we admire your artistry.”

Williams jokingly stared into the camera with a straight face as she held up a picture of the Hollywood starlet that came with the note. She simply stated, “Her hair is fabulous.”

“This is absolutely brilliant,” she continued. “Yes, Michelle knows what’s going on as well, and I cannot wait to see her. Hopefully sooner than later. It’s being worked out.”

Although this time it was a happy accident, in 2019, the pop star was on the receiving end of backlash meant for the “Showing Up” vet.

During Michelle’s acceptance speech at that year’s Emmys, she poignantly addressed the gender wage gap, and viewers weren’t thrilled with the statement.

“I am trying to figure out, ‘Why in the world am I getting cursed out in my comments for Michelle Williams’ speech?’ which I thought was her truth,” the R&B singer wrote at the time in a since-deleted post on X.

“I thought it was awesome. I just told this woman a few minutes ago on my Instagram, ‘I’m so sorry that my namesake upset you, but can’t you see that I’m black?’”
