‘White Lotus’ stars Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood are teaming up again despite rumored feud: report
Rick and Chelsea may reach that goal of being together forever.
“The White Lotus” co-stars Walton Goggins, 53, and Aimee Lou Wood, 31, are teaming up on another project together, CNN journalist Elizabeth Wagmeister claimed on the “Viall Files” podcast.
“I was told this off the record, but there is something professionally that they are doing in the coming weeks together,” Wagmeister said on Thursday.
“So, if there really is a feud, this has not stopped them,” she continued. “It’s not like they can’t be in the same room….there is something on the books.”
Wagmeister was referring to the rumor that Goggins and Wood are feuding.
Both actors co-starred as the age-gap couple, Rick and Chelsea, who were on vacation in Thailand in “The White Lotus” Season 3.
Every season of the HBO dramedy ends with a death, and both Rick and Chelsea were the Season 3 casualties, dying in a shootout that Rick instigated.
Neither Goggins or Wood have publicly addressed the feud rumors, which were caused in part by their co-star, Jason Isaacs, who hinted at behind the scenes drama during a March interview with Vulture.
“It was like a cross between summer camp and ‘Lord of the Flies’ but in a gilded cage. It wasn’t a holiday,” Isaacs, 61, said.
“Some people got very close, there were friendships that were made and friendships that were lost.”
The “Harry Potter” actor added, “All the things you would imagine with a group of people unanchored from their home lives on the other side of the world, in the intense pressure cooker of the working environment with eye-melting heat and insects and late nights. They say in the show, ‘What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand.’ But there’s an off-screen White Lotus as well, with fewer deaths but just as much drama.”
Isaacs didn’t name names, but fans speculated that he was referring to Goggins and Wood after viewers noticed the co-stars don’t follow each other on Instagram – even though Wood follows over 5,000 people.
In a Reddit thread, fans claimed that the unfollowing happened weeks ago. They also speculated that Goggins may have blocked Wood because all of her comments on his Instagram are gone. His previous comments on her page, meanwhile, are still up.
Both actors also shared photo tributes and tagged most of their co-stars — but not each other.
In February, Goggins told People about Wood, “She was the person that mattered most to me during this experience. Even though my friends were there, we both became [enmeshed] in each other in the way that Rick and Chelsea are. I think the world of her.”
In a March interview with the Telegraph, the “Fallout” actor said he knew right away Wood would be “a very special person in my life.”
He also called her “on some levels, a soulmate.”
About whether Goggins and Wood would collaborate on another project, Wagmeister noted Thursday: “Work is work. If you have to do something for work, look, they’re about to go into a giant Emmy campaign. Like, every person is going to be nominated. They’re going to have to be in the same room. … I have no idea if there’s a feud or not.”
She added, “It could be all nonsense. Who knows?”
