‘And Just Like That’ Season 3 trailer dashes viewers’ hopes for key plot twist: ‘Won’t be watching’

And just like that … the fans want Samantha back.

Viewers of the “Sex and the City” sequel series were disappointed that Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones was MIA from the Season 3 trailer that came out Tuesday.

The footage features Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon back in their roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes, respectively, alongside returning stars Sarita Choudhury (Seema), Nicole Ari Parker (Lisa), Mario Cantone (Anthony) and John Corbett (Aidan).

Despite making a cameo in Season 2, Cattrall, 68, did not appear in the trailer — which enraged die-hard Samantha fans.

“And everybody was hoping to see queen Kim Cattrall in trailer,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in response to the trailer dropped by Max.

“I miss Samantha,” another person tweeted.

“Where is Samantha Jones???????? a different fan asked.

Another viewer wrote, “we want Kim Cattrall!”

“No Samantha? We miss you #KimCattrall,” someone else said.

“no kim cattrall? won’t be watching,” another viewer declared.

“And Just Like That” premiered in 2021 without Cattrall, who expressed her displeasure regarding her character’s storyline and called the new series “basically the third movie” based on the TV show.

But in May 2023, The Post exclusively revealed that Cattrall would reprise her role in a cliffhanger cameo.

The scene from the Season 2 finale saw Samantha calling Carrie and telling her that her flight from London was delayed, so she’d have to miss Carrie’s farewell dinner at her old apartment.

Cattrall said on “The View” in June 2023 that it was HBO and Max chairman and CEO Casey Bloys who made the ask for her to return.

“It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, ‘What can we do?’” she said during the interview. “And I went, ‘Hmmm … let me get creative.’”

For years, there’ve been rumors — and even some seeming evidence — of a feud between Cattrall and the rest of her former co-stars, including Parker, 60.

But Cattrall previously set the record straight by explaining that she was the one who chose not to return to the show.

“I was never asked to be part of the reboot,” she told Variety in 2022, adding, “I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media.”

Season 3 of “And Just Like That” premieres May 29 on Max.
