Mark Wahlberg looked nearly unrecognizable filming his upcoming crime thriller “By Any Means,” in which he’s playing a mob hitman.

The actor, 53, was on set in Atlanta Wednesday wearing an oversized grey suit jacket with matching pants, a red buttoned-down shirt and a white tank top. He also wore a pair of aviator sunglasses and gold jewelry, including a watch and several rings.

Wahlberg further transformed his look with chin and nose prosthetics. In addition, his long hair was slicked to the side and he sported thick sideburns.

The “Ted” star had a toothpick in his mouth as he waved to photographers while strolling around the film’s set.

Production on “By Any Means” began Tuesday.

Directed by Elegance Bratton and written by Sascha Penn and Theodore Witcher, the film “tells the incredible true story of the notorious mafia hitman who was hired by Hoover’s FBI off-the-books and partnered with a young Black special agent to hunt down those responsible for the murders of civil rights leaders in 1966 Mississippi,” according to Deadline.

Wahlberg is both starring in and producing the flick. The cast also includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Beharie, Giancarlo Esposito, Josh Lucas, David Straithairn and Ethan Embry.

Wahlberg appeared to bulk up for his role in “By Any Means.”

On April 4, he shared an Instagram video of himself shirtless getting into a cold plunge bathtub, and wrote, “When you realize your shorts don’t fit anymore after three months of eating like a crazy person🫣🥸🎬🎥.”

The actor has also continued to share workout videos on his Instagram.

Wahlberg previously gained 30 pounds to play a boxer-turned-Catholic priest in his 2022 movie “Father Stu.”

“I was eating 11,000 calories a day. That drastic weight gain really took a toll on me over the course of the last seven, eight months,” he told Entertainment Weekly at the time of the film’s release.

“I tried to do it in a healthy way,” he added of gaining the weight. “It was a dozen eggs and a dozen pieces of bacon, two baked potatoes, a Porterhouse steak, two bowls of white rice, and a glass of olive oil. The first two weeks were high proteins. The second two weeks were a lot of carbs. The last two weeks starches and then sodium, just to kind of get as bloated as possible.”

Wahlberg also admitted that he tends to “become a little bit obsessive” about physically preparing for a movie role.
