Groom labeled a ‘jerk’ for pulling cruel wedding day prank on bride: ‘Humiliating another is never fun’
Some people are just living, breathing red flags — but this guy takes the cake.
Blushing brides-to-be often spend hours (and thousands) on wedding day glam, ensuring there’s not a single strand of hair out of place nor a blemish on the face.
But it only took this goofball groom 2 seconds to ruin his new wife’s big day razzle-dazzle by shoving her head into their dessert.

“Automatic annulment,” declared a social media spectator, stunned by viral visuals of an unnamed man mushing the bride’s mug into a wedding cake covered in purple frosting.
Footage of the appalling prank has garnered over 20 million views on X — and fired up the internet’s ire.
“Nothing says ‘forever’ like tearing down your partner on day one. Solid beginning,” a sarcastic critic quipped in a tweet.
“If I was her, that knife would have immediately gone straight up his chin/throat,” another joked. “Hopefully, she went [the] annulment route quickly.”
“The biggest red flag here (besides doing it in the first place) is his inability to see…that she’s upset,” wrote an equally peeved commenter before labeling the groom a “jerk.”
“Why does this tradition even exist? It’s a waste of food — and also, humiliating another is never fun,” a separate bleeding heart noted.
It’s a musty, crusty custom that can easily turn any beautiful wedding day into doomsday.
The cake-smashing tradition originated in Ancient Rome, according to Brides.com.
“After tying the knot, brides would have barley cake crumbled over their heads, which signified male dominance and the promise of fertility,” experts explained. “During that time, brides in Yorkshire would also participate, but they took matters into their own hands: After tasting a piece of the cake, they would throw the rest of the slice over their heads as a way to kick off married life without the temptation of desire.”
“Then, in medieval England, newlyweds would share their first kiss over a pile of buns to guarantee a wealthy future,” said the insiders.
Nowadays, it seems the only thing the cruel tomfoolery can guarantee is post-nuptial problems.
Bride Jade Kennedy was urged to file for “divorce” after sharing a TikTok clip of her new husband slamming cake in her face following their 2022 vow exchange.
A separate sweetheart stormed out of her wedding venue in tears — and buttercream — after suffering a similar shame at the confection-filled hands of her hubby.
“This was supposed to be the happiest day of our lives and he embarrassed me in front of everyone for some prank that he knew I hated,” the beleaguered bride wrote on Reddit. “Not only that, he ruined a 500-dollar cake.”
“He ruined my makeup, my hair and the top of my dress,” she moaned. “The cake got all over.”
